FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

GENERAL INFORMATION

  • Also known as spinning, rhythm-based indoor cycling is a high-energy cardio and strengthening workout where riders cycle to the beat of the music. It’s intense, endorphin-boosting,  and fun!

  • We love newbies. Our classes are terrific for people of all fitness levels and experience. In cycle, you are in charge of your own resistance and speed on the bike, so you can work at your own pace and comfort level. Our Annex classes are small (max 9-10 people) so you will be getting small group attention from our coaches.

  • Maybe not, but that’s okay! You are at the controls so you can go at your own pace. Everyone is welcome. We are just happy you are here and committed to getting fit.

  • No, feel free to take whichever class you would like! Please do come at least 10 minutes early to your first cycle class, though, so a RIDE Team member can help you get set up on your bike and answer any questions.

  • Absolutely. We love intervals, endurance rides, climbs and sprints – all of which will get you ready for that Century, triathlon, or timed trial.

  • Yes! And, in our opinion, a customizable RIDE Gift Card is the ultimate feel-good gift! Recipients can use them toward classes, RIDE wear, and RIDE Bar items.

  • Most of our RIDE packs expire four months from date of purchase. Plenty of time to get in those RIDES! If you need more time, just ask us for an extension - we are happy to accommodate! (there may be a few exceptions with student rides and special promotions). See purchase page for details on expiration.

  • If you plan to take 3 or more classes at RIDE weekly, a membership is the way to go. You can use your membership for ANY class at RIDE (cycling + Annex) and memberships include at least one guest pass per cycle so you can bring a friend! We offer freezes for vacations or special circumstances so don’t worry if you need a week β€œoff” here or there. We’ve got you.

  • Yes, we have discounts for full time students and educators. Please email info@rideoaklandcycling.com for more information.

  • When you sign up for a cycling class, you will choose a bike in the cycling studio. We recommend that first-time riders and those with fewer than 20 classes choose bikes in the second or third full rows. No assigned spot required for Annex classes.
